The diet 3 days a question . [coffee and tea] [lot of water]

Im starting this on Monday. I wondered who had done this and what their results were? Also does not say anything about drinking only coffee and tea w / meals. Can I drink lots of water or not? Thank you.

Reply:As everyone has already pointed out, the 3-day diet is basically a fad diet which promotes rapid weight loss by starving yourself. (ie: Hollywood diet) These diets are usually end up in disaster because you end up gaining all the weight back as soon as the diet ends and a little extra.

The idea of sticking with the diet is very unrealistic. These diets are not a lifestyle and would be very unhealthy in the long term. I believe what Heidi wants to do is go on the diet and then return to a sensible, healthy diet. Considering she failed to do this last time she was on a system, I fail to see how she plans on doing it this time. Especially since she will be so hungry by the end of the diet she will go insane at the sight of cheetos.

Reply:can I ask what this 3 day diet is, lol. I am not trying to lose weight! I have retaining so much water and dont know what to do, any suggestions, and can you please tell me what this 3 day diet consists of ? thankssss
Reply:I am currently on the three day diet at the begginning of July i weighed 293 i started low carb that week and lost 13 pounds and i got so tired of low carb that i just went back to my old ways so then someone suggested to me the three day diet so i gave it a try i weighed in at 283 after being on the diet for three days and then one cheat day and back on for another three days i had went down to 268. today i'm on my cheat day and tomorrow i'll be on my three day diet again. I'm trying to learn from this diet to eat healthier and take control of my food portions once i get to my ideal diet i'll start on a low fat diet because i feel like when your skinny your eating healthy for a reason to stay skinny and good looking than rather eating healthy while your still fat. does anyone else feel the same way as i do.
Reply:guy – How did you make out with this diet. I forgot to check back with you until I saw other postings about the 3 day diet. It sounds like other people have had sucess with it.
Reply:What is this 3 day diet? I might want to try it!!
Reply:Hi,
I've done this diet on and off since about February. I lost about 20 pounds so far. I do substitute some things on it as I hate cabbage and grapefruit!
The one thing it does, it feels like it shrinks the size of your stomach. I noticed that when I went on my 4 days, I just couldn't eat like I did before. The first rotation, I thought I would starve to death…but now, I force myself to eat those 3 days. I do space the food out over the whole day, not just 3 meals. I eat a couple things every 2-3 hrs.
Hope this helps…
Reply:Thanks! I'll let everyone know how it goes. I'm going to start on Monday!

Take Care!

Reply:If you lack motivation, how do you think you will be able to keep the weight off after you lose it?
To answer your question about water, you should always drink 6-8 glasses a day no matter what diet you are on. You need to hydrate your body for it to function properly.
I wish you the best of luck!
Reply:I've done it the "proper" way about two years ago…I was on a 90 day challenge at my gym and lost 18 lbs. and 12% body fat in those 90 days. I had a personal trainer who helped me in the gym and who also gave me a diet to follow and supplements to take. I was very happy with my body after these 90 days, I just didn't realize how hard it was to maintain. I kept the gym up, I just didn't keep my diet up…which is where I really lack in my motivation.

BUT, if I have a quick fix for a week or two, I know "me" and I know my body and I will stick to a healthy way of living to get to my ideal figure and this 3 day diet won't stick with me long, but it will motivate me (when I see quick results) to keep it up healthy, but not necessarily this way.

I've also done many, many, many diet pills – some of which worked and some of which were just a waste of money. The first diet I ever did was Suddenly Slim!…the 10 day diet which I lost 8 lbs in ten days and I lost more after that with the maintenance plan…but that didn't last long b/c I wasn't working out. But then I found the gym and fell in love with spinning and weight training. The spinning I'm starting to get back into (after taking about 10 months off) and weight training, very slowly. I would like to lose a little weight before I start packing on muscles again. That's more effective for my body type…I think. I'm just so very unhappy with the weigh I look right now. I'm the biggest I've ever been in my life…and my bf and I are TTC and I want to lose weight before that happens.

Thanks for reading…and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Reply:Listen, even if you lost 5-6 pounds that wasn't water a week that would be extremely unhealthy because you would be losing a lot of muscle with that. Your body has limitations and anything over 2lbs means you are losing more than fat. You should also always drink plenty of water no matter what your diet.

In theory if what you said was true then by the end of the month you would be skinny fat, where you are skinny but still have fat on you because you mostly lost muscle. I'm sure you've seen people like this, its very ugly and unnatural looking.

I've never had an interest in looking up the amount of calories in this type of diet but hoochie mentioned 600 calories…you might as well be eating nothing and just starve yourself. That costs even less.

How much success have you had with other diets in the past? Real ones with proper nutrition throughout the week and cardio?

Reply:I am one of those people that if I see results quickly, I'll stick to it…meaning, those other 4 days of the week – I'll eat not like the prior three days, but very similar – just maybe snacks in between meals, etc. If I lose 5 or 6 lbs. in 3 days I will definitely stick to it and do the diet three days out of every week for as long as I can stand it, and by then it should be a lifestyle change completely for me b/c I'll be happy w/ what I'm doing and how I look…which is my ultimate goal – look in the mirror and like what I see.

So, if I'm losing water weight only – that means I should not consume any water, right?

Sorry if that's a stupid question – I will be going to the gym during these three days and I always drink a lot of water while I'm there.

Thanks.

Reply:I agree with guy about short term being a waste however you don't pay for this diet. It is free! It could be a waste of your time though! Everyone has to learn for themselves!
Reply:You are paying to lose water weight, that is it.

Get a real diet with long term goals instead of 3 day gimicks which are just money sinks.

Reply:I have done the 3 day diet twice and both times I lost about 6-7 pounds. Both times I gained the weight back right away. You will be famished! You are mostly losing water. You are also only eating about 600 calories in a day if I recall. It is good if you are just looking at short term but you will gain it back quickly. Try it out! You don't know until you try! Live and learn! It might work for you.
